We offer a FREE school holiday program for school aged children/teenagers who have a parent with a mental illness. We have a waiting list for anyone interested, and groups are run on a needs basis. The groups are run offered to similar ages such as 8 to 10 years, 10 to 12 years, and 12+ years. At the groups we offer education about mental illnesses, as well as fun activities such as art/craft, role plays, games, outdoor games, clay, movies, and 10 pin bowling. We offer a pre-group interview so families can meet staff and sign forms, a 3 day program, then a post-group interview to make recommendations. We also run a reunion party 6 months later where all participants are invited back. In 2009 we hope to offer a Christmas party to anyone who has completed a group.
