The Kaleidoscope Plus Program runs over 8 weeks and offers a safe and therapeutic environment for children and young people aged between 5-17 years who have been affected by a family member’s alcohol and other drug issues co-occurring with mental illness.
The Kaleidoscope Plus Program aims to:
- increase children and young people’s understanding about the relationship between drug and alcohol and mental health issues
- validate children’s experiences of drug and alcohol and mental health issues in the family
- promote a sense of collectiveness and inclusion
- explore and develop skills in problem solving and managing difficult emotions
- promote confidence and self-esteem.
These aims are achieved through the provision of art and craft activities, educational material, interactive activities and relaxation exercises that are all provided in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
