Programs for children and youth of parents with a mental illness (peer support and education programs)

The Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation Support Services provide community support and independent housing for people with mental health related disabilities in the Salisbury and Elizabeth area.

Support is provided in the areas of accessing and maintaining independent housing, daily living skills, community linkage and personal support to maintain health and wellbeing. The Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation Support Services (North) provide support from 8 to 21 hours per week over 7 days. The service is committed to planning support mutually with clients and is inclusive and considerate of their families, children, carers and significant other.

The Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation Support Services work in partnership with Northern Mental Health Services, the SA Housing Trust, community housing agencies and carers and consumers to provide collaborative and needs based support.

Other community living programs operate in the southern metropolitan area of Adelaide, the south east region (based in Mount Gambier) and Whyalla (youth specific focus).
