Lifeline's 13 11 14 service is staffed by trained volunteer telephone counsellors who are ready to take calls 24-hour a day, any day of the week from anywhere in Australia. These volunteers operate from Lifeline Centres in every State and Territory around Australia.
Lifeline telephone counsellors are ready to talk and listen no matter how big or how small the problem might seem. They are trained to offer emotional support in times of crisis or when callers may be feeling down.
Callers can access Lifeline from either a landline, payphone or mobile phone.
Callers who are deaf, or have a hearing impairment or speech impairment can contact Lifeline through the National Relay Service:
TTY (teletypewriter) users: phone 133 677 then ask for 13 11 14
Speak and Listen users: phone 1300 555 727 then ask for 13 11 14
Internet relay users: connect to the NRS then ask for 13 11 14
